landing stage

Every time when I do some (little) changes to my little garden and when there is a shovel involved, I dig up stones and bricks. I don't know what the former owners of the house have done but there are more bricks in my garden then in the whole house. Last time when I was piling up all the stones I found in a square meter underground I saw this remarkable one. I knew it was a sign. I have been asking my beloved husband for a landing stage (well, just a little one) for ages so my son can use his rowing boat a bit more easily. Without a landing stage we had to crawl into the neighboors garden with a boat on our neck. And the neigboor is a very friendly man but I felt quiet uncomfortable sneaking into his garden with the boat followed by some kids. To be short: we have our landing stage and to mark it I used this old brick with an anker. It looks quiet happy on this spot, much better then it was underground.

a happy bunch

Look at this bunch of flowers: these peonies are so over the top, in size and in color in everything. I love them. They chear up my home and my mind. Everytime I look at them I think what an absolutly pretentios fellows they are, but all together they make a happy bunch in my home!

homelless insects

I made a lovely shelter for insects to survive the cold Dutch winter. All sorts of creapy crawlies could find a warm winter home in here. My dear husband who is of the 'clear it all out' kind made blocks for the hearth and also chopped this shelter into blocks. It might become a little bit too hot for my little friends on a certain moment....

illegal chestnut growing

last week the neighboor asked if I was growing something for a smoke. I didnot got it clearly but when I came home a couple of hours later I think she saw this lovely chestnut 'start ups' as something illegal near my frontdoor. The chestnut collection of my son turned into a mini chestnut forest.....
